End-of-year summary, rankings and new features in 2025

about 14 hours agoKjetil Hårtveit - Founder

It's the last day of 2025 and it's time to wrap up another fantastic year of snooker! 🎁

On that note, see your very own personal summary of the year in our new Total Clearance feature (must be logged in)!

2025 Summary

We've seen 127 scoring teams so far this season. That's up from 71 at the end of year summary from last year! It's awesome and motivating to see more people show interest and play our game. ❤️

2025 has so far featured 12 out of 20 tournaments in the 2025/2026 season, including triple crown event UK Championship (A-tier) and the second edition of the Saudi Arabia Masters (B-tier, perhaps due a tier increase.. 😉). However fear not if you are currently low in the rankings, massive tournaments are still to be played (including two remaining triple crown events): the Masters (A-tier) and the World Championship (S-tier). Make sure to build your team with care, and with a tad of luck, the tables can turn very quickly indeed!

Although there hasn't been a player quite as dominant as Judd Trump in the 2024/2025 season, Mark "The Jester" Selby really showed his class in the latter half of the year by winning the Champion of Champions (B-tier) and the UK Championship (A-tier). Judd Trump knocked on the door with 3 finals but failed to convert any of them.

The last tournament of the year (eligible for Fantasy Snooker) was the Scottish Open (15-21 Dec) where Chris Wakelin lifted the title after beating first-time finalist Changyu Bingyu.

End-of-year rankings

The Fantasy Snooker 2025/2026 season has seen some intense scrambling between The Kratta Kritas (Kratta Krita), Bad Boys (dsestevan) and Don'tletyourtipcomeoff (Doubledutch) fighting for the lead, with the latter currently topping the rankings. We also see household names like Snooker 365 (Glen Mathews), Hyzerflip (kjetilh_sports) and Silly Little Snooker (SillyLittleMan) sneaking into the mix in the top 10.

The season is only just half-way done though with many big tournamnents to go, so everything can still happen! Will Kratta Krita or Doubledutch reel in the trophy or will a contender rise up to the challenge?

See the end-of-year top 10 rankings below. You can also see the full live rankings.

New features and events in 2025 and look-ahead at 2026

Here's some of the most notable features and events in 2025 - and we have no intention of stopping yet!

Notable features

  • Tournament summaries (generated with AI) - see on your team page
  • Total Clearance (yearly summary) - can also be found on your team page
  • User enhancements like country picker and fields for social accounts - check out on your user profile page
  • Player points window (for better transparency around player values)

Notable events

  • Upgraded technology stack and applied caching strategies which should see improved performance
  • Architecture decisions moving more calculations to data in our own database making the game more stable and fast (we're still reliant on an external data source, but will make the game more resilient in the near future)

Look-ahead at 2026

For 2026 we are planning to:

  • make changes in tournament tiers (Saudi Arabia Masters, Tour Championship, Shoot-Out will probably be changed)
  • improve resiliency for unstable third-party integrations
  • add many features mentioned last year! Unfortunately we weren't able to implement everything we wanted through the year, but we have achieved a fairly stable infrastructure which will enable us to focus more on new features. Here's some ideas:
    • public user profiles
    • more info in UI about ranking changes
    • more notifications like reminders for upcoming tournament
    • badges/achievements?
    • ++

As always we have many ideas but there's only so many hours in a day and so many things to life! If there are features you really miss or have ideas, please don't hesitate to let us know about them either via feedback or socials.

Happy New Year

We at Fantasy Snooker wish all of you a Happy New Year 💫! We hope to see you next year for the Masters (11th of January 2026).

As always, we would love it if you interact with us on Twitter/X, Discord, Facebook or other social media. Perhaps you would like to share your ideas or tell us about a feature you really miss. You can also drop us feedback via the support page.

See you in 2026! - Kjetil Hårveit, founder and developer of Fantasy Snooker
